We are going to teach you how to use a Gamecube controller on project64. To use a Gamecube controller, you would need a lot of things. Step 1: Install Project64 on Your PC

There are some requirements for having Project64 on your PC. Here are some of them;

  •  A CPU of at least 650MHz Intel Pentium 3 or AMD Athlo XP
  •  1GB Ram
  • Direct X 8.1 GPU (with a minimum requirement of at least ATI Radeon 8500)
  • A router with very staple internet Connection.
  • Enough disk space

Now that you have the installation requirements, let proceed with the installation. So start with downloading the Project64 installer. After that, click on the downloaded file, and then click on run to kick off the installation. Before you install, you would see an option to choose a destination folder for your installation. After that, click on next.

When the installation is done, an option to a create desktop icon would show up. Click this, then Finish. Hurray! You have installed Project 64 Emulator on your Laptop.

Step 2: Get the pdobq Adapter

This quality adapter shares a close resemblance with the official Nintendo Adapter. Compared to the official Nintendo adapter, it is smaller in size. Respite of this, it performs almost the same way the Nintendo official adapter does.  This special adapter supports four wired GameCube controllers. As stated earlier, it is very compatible with the PC, MAC, and Wii U for a wonderful gaming experience.  You can place an order for your own pdobq adapter at Amazon or Aliexpress.

Step 3: Plugin the Pdobq Adapter

The main job of the Pdobq adapter is to serve as an intermediate. It works like a USB docker. The Pdobq helps your gamecube controller gain access to the USB ports of your PC. Now for this step, connect the Pdopq to your PC.

Step 4:  Connect the Gamecube Controller to the pdobq Adapter

With your Pdobq adapter now playing intermediate, connect the gamecube controller to it. There are lots of quality game controllers to make a pick from. Some of these include:

Step 5: Open Your Project64 on your PC

At the beginning of this guide, I mentioned that Project64 is an emulator that allows you to play GameCube games on either Windows, macOS, or Linux platform.  Click on the Desktop icon of you PC and open up Project64 emulator

Step6: Select your Gamecube controller

Select your Gamecube controller on your project64 on your PC. That's all for this super simple step.

Step 7: Configure control settings

Now, it's time for you to set up your GameCube controller with Project64.  Go to the top of the Project64 game selection window. Then click Options > Configure Controller Plugin.  Wait for at least one minute while it loads, after its done loading, a box would show up. Click the buttons you see in the window, and then subsequently press the same buttons on your controller. After this, click ok.

Step 8: Close the control Settings

When you are done with all these settings, close the control settings panel.

Step 9: Add Games to the Project64 Emulator

So finally, you can now add games to your Project64 emulator on your laptop. Go to the web and download any games of your choice. Go to the Project64 emulator and select the file folder for the game, and it should appear in the games list.

Step 10: Enjoy your games
